Preamble:

 

Bangladesh is the poorest country in the third world. The present situation of the country is full of problems like- Poverty, appetite, illiteracy, drug induction, violation of rights, unemployment, over population etc. In addition to that, there is the greatest hindrance of total development because of flood, cyclone and other natural calamities.

 

To keep the backward people of the country aloof from the development is quite impracticable on the way of development. Only special programs adopted by the organized people can give real direction. From such perception, this organization is working in subject to social development of the people of the country.

 

 

About SAD:

 

SAD is an independent, non-governmental, non-benefited organization, founded by some cultural workers, with a strong leadership of M. Motiur Rahman Sagar in 2000 with some focused theatre activities on drug addiction in Bhairab. After one year, SAD-BD started working on some new issues of poverty for the empowerment of poor and extreme poor in an integrated approach in both Rural and Urban area, with Gov. registration under the Ministry of Social Welfare, no: Kishore- 448,Dated: 02-05-2001 & later on under the NGO affairs Bureau, Reg: no- 2586, Dated: 13-07-2010.

 

Vision:

 

A poverty free educated society, where people lives with food security and equal rights.

 

Mission:

 

-          Make the people united to establish the rights and inspire human values through motivation, capacity building and exchanging information among the poor.

-          We endeavor to bring about Socio-Economic changes in the lives of the extreme-poor, illiterate, un-skilled people, especially women and children of the society through self-employment and enhancement of basic services from LSPs.

-          Making people aware of their self-dignity and to realize their talents, resource and application of their own culture.

-          Participation of Most Marginalised Citizens (MMCs) in the development process through establishing rights and Gender equity.

Where we work:

 

SAD-BD presently works in two districts- Kishoregonj (Bhairab, Austagram, Pakundia,  Nikli, Bajitpur & Kuliarchar upazila) and Netrokona (Durga pur upazila) of Haor area both rural and urban with full set up. Beside that, we have implemented projects in last couple of years in Mymensingh and Brahmanbaria district. We have a campaign on Anti-corruption all over the country with partnership of Democracy Watch (A national NGO), funded by USAID under PROGATI. We have interest to work other districts of our country.

Governance:

 

SAD’s highest policy making body is general Committee (GC) comprised of 13 members. It has an Executive Committee (EC) of 07 members elected by GC. Executive Director is the Chief Executive of the organization under EC. SAD adopts “Decentralized participatory management system” in program implementation for significant achievement and making it People oriented & Sustainable.

Name of title : Workshop on Civic Education on Youth & Elected Female member of UP & PS.

Organize by : Democracy Watch & SAD Bangladesh.

Dated : 14-15 December 2011

Venue : Upazilla Meeting Room, Bhairab Upazilla, Kishoregonj.

Objectives of Workshop : Increases of civic education & ensure elected female members responsibility.

 

Program :

Democacy Watch & SAD Bangladesh was jointly organized two day  non residential workshop at Bhairab upazilla meeting room 14 to 15 December. First day morning the Assai tent Director of  Democacy Watch Mr. Minhaj open the workshop. He was welcome all participants & thanks to all for their participate. Full day session conducted Mr. Moien & Mrs Triptti. Mr. Khoresd Alam, UNO of Bhairab upazilla was a special session facilitate. His contain was Responsibility of Local Government spicily -Education, Health, Sanitation, Agriculture & Legal law.

Total participants was 45 nos, Youth are 25 & Elected female member 20. Participants are different upazilla, like Kishoregonj Sadar, Bajitpur, Kuliarchar & Bhairab.

 
HIV/AIDS Awarness Traing for community leaders PDF Print E-mail

SAD Bangladesh has conducted a community based training on "HIV/AIDS awareness training for community leaders" from 03-04, November, 2011 at Bhairab with support of HASAB consortium. The UNO of Bhairab was present in the opening session of the training. 18 male and 12 female as total of 30 participated, where 03 teachers, 04 journalits and 02 Imams were participants.
